Romans 1:8-12 A Longing To See His Brothers

Paul has never met the Christians at Rome.  His work has not yet led that far west and though he has heard of their faithfulness to Christ it seems he has not yet encountered someone from the Roman church.  Despite the lack of personal connection Paul prays for the church in Rome daily, asking God to bless them.  Paul also mentions a deep desire to finally meet the church at Rome.  He believes they can encourage one another and grow closer to Jesus through that mutual encouragement.  Even as the church in Rome faces the displeasure of the Emperor and Paul faces persecution being beaten from town to town their faith is the same faith.  They believe in the same Lord Jesus and serve the same God.  In the same way we can draw encouragement from others holding firm to Jesus all around the world.
